What is Speed Dating?

Dating one person per night? That's so last century! In this ultra fast modern world I don't have time to be messing about. I want to date 20 people in one night!

That's effectively it. Speed dating has become fashionable with young professional people who probably wouldn't have a problem dating - if they had time!

How does it work?

Speed dating events are usually set for a particular age group, say 25-35. When you arrive at an event you will get a scorecard. The rules will be explained and you'll have time to get a drink. Then you start speed dating.

A couple will be assigned to each other. You get a few minutes to talk and make notes and then you rotate. Women usually stay sitting and men move to the next date. This continues until you've dated everyone.

At the end you can review your score card and decide if you want to meet anyone again for a real date.
